directx 9 0b

how do i use silkroad it will not work with 10x it needs 9.0b

unfortunatly you only have 1 of 2 choices right now. Wait for silkroad to update thier dirctx base, or install windows xp. Drivers and code implementation prior to vista in regards to directx has always been a bit shakey, and has been a major contributor to the crashes that most machines have. With the new device model, that microsoft is trying to implement with vista, This should be rectified. Unfortunatly, this means that a number of devices and programs will have trouble, or not work at all due to thier implementation of directx 9. This, as well as stability, suport, and hardware compatability is why microsoft did not want people using this as their production <primary> machine.

Prior to install, try right clicking on Setup -> then select properties. Under the compatibility tab check the Win XP compatibility box and the "run as administrator" box? Then try to install the game as the administrator.

Fix for Silkroad posted here: http://www.silkroadforums.com/viewtopic.php?p=188052
It replaces the silkroad.exe with one that doesn't validate directx. Worked perfectly for me!!!
